Presentation Event and All-in-Optis Race, Saturday 25 May
The final day of sailing for this season is Saturday 25th May, to be followed by our Presentations Event, wherein we will celebrate the success and contributions of our members across the season.
The ever-popular Adult-in-Optis competition that in prior years has been held on the Regatta weekend is now expanded into a much bigger knock-out All-in-Optis event, including juniors. Several heats will be run, with the top sailors from each heat advancing to a grand final race to determine the overall winner. This is true one-design racing, where skill triumphs over equipment! All Club members are encouraged to take part, and since starts will be run from the jetty there will be plenty of fun for spectators as well. Can Grace Becker-Scott retain her title, or will there be a new champion?
- Manual registrations open at 11:00 am - help to get Optis rigged would be appreciated
- Competitor briefing at 12.30 pm (including announcement of course and participants in each heat)
- First warning signal at 1.00 pm
- Aim to finish racing by 3:00 pm to allow time for pack-up and changing
- Presentations will begin at 4: 00 pm
For the Presentation Event, please bring along a plate of food to enjoy with fellow members as we celebrate a fantastic season of sailing (there will be no Club BBQ, but the BBQ will be available for members to use).
