All Skippers, regardless of whether or not they are the owner of the boat, who intend to:
• race the boat in a gazetted Club racing series or regatta, or
• use the boat as part of a gazetted Club sailing training activity, or
• sail the boat in a gazetted Club social sailing event
Must lodge the following documents with the Club:
- A completed Safety Declaration for the boat, and
- A valid Certificate of Insurance for the boat that clearly states that the insurance company covers third-party liability to at least $10 million.
To do this
• download the applicable Safety Declaration form from below.
• complete the form and email it together with the relevant Certificate of Insurance to registration@williamstownsailingclub.org.au
You are then eligible to skipper the boat in any gazetted Club event. The Club will also enter you into the ClubOps sign-on system, which is used to record all boats going out on the water for each particular event.
If your Certificate of Insurance expires during the course of the sailing season, you are required to upload a renewed Certificate of Insurance in order to still be able to participate in gazetted Club sailing events. You will be sent a reminder notice by the Club to this effect.
(NB. The Club's own Boats will have had a Safety Declaration undertaken by the Sailing Committee before the start of each Season).
