Vale Trisha O’Driscoll

30 October 1953 – 11 August 2016

We are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Trisha O’Driscoll.

Trisha was a member of our club for a relatively short period, from 2006 when she undertook the Learn to Sail program and for a few years thereafter – but her links to the Club were strong. Trisha’s father had been a long-time member, brother Ray is a current member as is her brother-in-law Bill.

Trisha was a wonderful person, and made her mark wherever she went. She was full of kindness, love and joy – just her presence would light up a room. Vivacious and charming, beautiful inside and out, loving and giving and wickedly funny.

Trisha and her mate Carol sailed Pacers together, often with hilarious results, but always with a spirit of fun and adventure. Trisha was part of the Social Committee at the club and helped organise a number of functions – it was always light work when she was around because she made everything fun.

Trisha taught at Willy North Primary for many years, and more recently at Altona Primary and Sacred Heart. Some of you or perhaps your children were taught by Trisha, I bet she left her mark. She believed in the benefits of education for all and taught with commitment and love. When asked about teaching children who had ‘problems’ – her answer was simple – ‘you have to love them even more’.

Our deepest condolences go to Trisha’s husband Vic, her children Heath and Alex and to Ray and Bill.
