More information about our social events
Williamstown Sailing Club is a great community club with one of the best views in Melbourne from our upper deck looking back towards the city skyline. All club members have access to the upper deck facilities , unless they are being used for a booked club or private function. Dates with booked functions are on the downstairs noticeboard near the canteen.
The club upper deck facilities are for the use of members. We have an outdoor BBQ, seating, shade cloths over some of the decking area, which all helps make it a great place to come with friends for a BBQ or sit and enjoy your take-away food. There is a full kitchen upstairs, with supplies of cutlery, plates, bowls etc for members to use. Inside there are tables and chairs, couches, as well as some games and equipment for helping entertain the kids and the adults (table tennis, fooz ball and pool table). Mid-week, if you are looking for a quiet spot, the couches upstairs provide a pleasant place to curl up and read a book.
The club offers social membership for people who do not want to participate in any regular boating activities, and are looking for a pleasant community environment, where you can socialise, meet new friends and make use of the upper floor facilities.
We have a social committee who are aiming to increase the variety of social activities we have around the club. We hold an annual Christmas party, and have also previously held international themed nights, trivia quizzes, Xmas in July, after sailing race BBQs, river cruises. The first Friday night of the months from October to May we have a bar night, where you can come and enjoy the location, have a drink with friends, and we will be serving some light meals and snacks, like pizza, hot dogs, BBQ etc. We also are introducing some live music to these nights.
For more information on these events, or if you have any suggestions of activities that might be a good addition to our social calendar, email firstname.lastname@example.org
