Williamstown Sailing Club is an accredited Yachting Australia Discover Sailing Centre. The Club conducts one course during the sailing season, designed for those who wish to sail in small craft. The aim is to enable students to sail a small yacht competently and to gain confidence so that sailing is both safe and enjoyable.
This program runs for three Thursday nights of theory and five Saturday mornings of on the water training, under the guidance of experienced and certified Yachting Victoria instructors and experienced sailing members of the Club.
The minimum age for this program is 12, and you must be able to swim 50 metres. For children 7 to 12 we provide a TACKERS training program.
Course materials, boats and life jackets are provided. For the on the water sessions, a change of clothes and sneakers (suitable for getting wet), towel, hat, sun block and sunglasses are essential. The club canteen will be in operation for lunches and refreshments. Change rooms and hot showers are available.
